We have a database of highly qualified and experienced interpreters. Our interpreters are carefully selected for assignments. We match their expertise and knowledge to your requirements, to ensure that we can provide interpreting for a variety of situations: legal interpreting in courts, for the immigration service and police, business interpreting at meetings, conferences and exhibitions, on-site technical and commercial interpreting for your representatives, telephone and tour guide interpreting, as well as other types of ad-hoc interpreting. We will work with you to determine your needs in order to provide interpreting for a specific event.
SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETING: This is the favourite technique for all formal meetings, and requires the use of equipment and the highest level of interpreting skill. The interpreter’s version is delivered almost at the same time as the original source, with a delay only as long as it takes for the interpreter to digest the meaning of the source. It requires the interpreter to work in a soundproof booth translating instantaneously so that delegates at a meeting or conference receive a real-time account of what is being said in a language they understand.
CONSECUTIVE INTERPRETING:Is used for smaller meetings, discussions between individuals, politicians, business people or journalists and the interpreter gives an accurate account of what a speaker has said immediately after they have spoken. The interpreter translates or summarises after each of the speakers’ contributions to a conversation. It is appropriate for one-to-one and small informal group interpreting and requires no specialised equipment. It is a relatively slow process, since all contributions to the conversation are repeated in real time.
Interpreters charge on a daily basis, where a day is normally 9am until 5pm. Half-day rates can also be negotiated. Travel expenses and accommodation charges may also apply, depending on the location of the venue. Never leave it to the last minute to engage an interpreter as first-class interpreters are generally booked up well ahead.
